TAMPA, FL (December 1, 2009) - On Wednesday, December 2, 2009 the Tampa Human Rights Council (HRC) will hold a news conference to announce the 2009 Human Rights Award winners. The distinguished awards have been a local tradition since 1973. Click here to see a list of previous winners.

The Award winners will also be honored, during the week of International Human Rights Day, at the 36th Annual Human Rights Awards Breakfast with the theme, "Human Rights of Hope, Our Future Speaks Out NOW. Speakers for the event will include Debbie Johnston, founder of Students for Safer Schools and co-director of of Bully Police Florida and Young Human Rights advocates.
